Victoria Alvarado has been photographing Latina women of conscience since 2001. Over time her photography exhibit has grown to include internationally known women such as Isabel Allende as well as local community leaders. What all the women have in common is their positive contributions to their communities. Her evocative black and white photos have been exhibited at locations such as the Mexican Consulate General in San Francisco and the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts. The December 11th reception will feature and art talk by Darwin Marable, PhD.
