Grgich Hills Estate

Grgich Hills Estate is an iconic Napa Valley winery, consistently producing world-class wines. Vintner Hall of Fame inductee Miljenko "Mike" Grgich first earned world-wide recognition when the Chardonnay he crafted won the 1976 Paris Tasting, beating the best of France. Mike then partnered with Austin Hills to open their family-owned-and-operated winery in 1977.

Committed to natural winegrowing and sustainability, we farm our five estate vineyards without artificial fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides, rely on wild yeast fermentation and use our passion and art to handcraft food-friendly, balanced and elegant wines.

You’re invited to visit one of the most personable wineries in Napa Valley for an extraordinary experience tasting great wines made naturally!

Tasting Room

We are a family-friendly winery that welcomes walk-in visitors in our main tasting room where you are surrounded by oak barrels and the seductive aromas of wine in various stages of development. We currently offer two flights for you to enjoy:

Napa Valley Flight:

Tasting of our six Napa Valley Wines– $20

Miljenko’s Flight:

Tasting of six limited production and older vintage wines- $40

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate groups of 8 or more in our tasting room. We are happy to offer large-group tastings for $35 per person- please call us for availability at (707) 963-2784 or email hospitality@grgich.com.

We’re open daily from 9:30am to 4:30pm for tasting and sales with the exception of New Year’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.

Grgich At A Glance– $35 per person

Join us for a walking tour and tasting where you will discover the rich history of Grgich Hills Estate, learn about our vineyards, and taste our world class wines. Offered daily at 2pm. Please allow 45 minutes for this experience. Reservations are required.

Seated Tasting- $50 per person

Take a seat, relax, and enjoy a private tasting on our beautiful patio or in one of our exquisite rooms located in the winery. Your host will guide you through five limited production and specialty wines paired with artisan cheeses. Please allow 45 minutes for this experience. Reservations are required.

The Unforgettable– $65 per person

This unforgettable experience designed by Vintners Hall of Fame inductee Miljenko “Mike” Grgich, starts in our educational vineyard and follows the path of our estate grown grapes from vine to bottle. You’ll discover why Mike calls this journey, “From our vineyards to your glass, naturally!” The tour concludes with a seated tasting of cheeses paired perfectly with five limited production and specialty wines. Please allow 90 minutes for this experience. Reservations are required.

The Exclusive- $90 per person

Enjoy an intimate and exclusive tasting of Grgich Hills Estate’s best kept secrets. Your personal host will guide you through a flight of six older vintage and limited production wines paired with artisan cheeses. This is your chance to taste and purchase wines that are rarely released from our winery vault in our private wine library. Please allow 60 minutes for this experience. Reservations are required. Winery tour can be added to this experience for no extra cost, but must be requested in advance.

Grape Stomp-$30 includes stomping, t-shirt and wine tasting

If you really want to get a feel for the Napa Valley, we invite you to kick off your shoes and stomp grapes, just like Mike Grgich did when he was growing up in Croatia! After stomping and enjoying a flight of three Napa Valley wines, you’ll take home a souvenir t-shirt with your footprints!

Offered this year: August 21st – through mid-October: 10:30 am to 4pm.

Reservations are not accepted for groups of 1-14 people. For groups of 15+ people, a reservation is required and the cost is $50 per person which includes a full tour and tasting, grape stomping and souvenir t-shirt. Children are welcome to stomp and create a t-shirt of their own for $15.
